Sepsis Research is the UK’s only sepsis research charity. Its mission is to #stopsepsisnow through funding research into detection and treatment of the condition and raising awareness across the UK. Flourish was appointed in 2018 to act as the out-sourced marketing function for the charity. We’re an extension to the team. The brief? To help in whatever way we can to support their mission.
We set out marketing objectives and a plan of attack for the first twelve months, prioritising key activities to improve the charity’s public face: first off a new website, which we built in-house, as well as developing a content plan of key milestones and messages to inform social media, which we now manage for Sepsis Research. Next up, a bit of a brand refresh and launch of regular ecomms to donors. We’ve also helped the in-house team maximise the opportunity of partnering with the Scottish Government on the first Scotland wide public awareness campaign, which has been repeated in 2019. At the heart of the approach has been a focus on a call to action to donate…oh, and we joined in the KiltWalk in 2019 to raise money for Sepsis Research too.
The charity’s social media following and engagement have rocketed, with facebook impressions increasing by over 300% in six months and twitter impressions topping a 900% increase. But, more importantly, down to the efforts of the whole extended team at Sepsis Research, people are donating £1000s to help #stopsepsisnow. And that’s the main thing.
